I'm sorry to say that I regret having my son go to this school, and especially that we went with the in-person option. The 8-hour sessions are a series of quiet time to read, watching videos and doing worksheets or quizzes. There was lot of "down time" and, from what I can tell, very little interaction between the instructor and the students. We did not do the "behind the wheel" (BTW) part, so I cannot speak to that. If I could go back and do it again I would probably look elsewhere, or choose the online version (which would require half as many hours of my son's time).

I had the pleasure of following a student and teacher from the school all the way up lookout mountain road. It was extremely questionable that the teacher had a student driver who could barely handle a car driving up a mountain road in a thick heavy fog with very low visibility. Poor choices aside, the teacher clearly was giving the student little or no direction on how to actually drive.
The student was breaking in nearly every turn and swerving all over the road. A little bit of minor instruction could easily correct that behavior and help that person be a good driver, but instead the teacher would rather just sit there and get nauseous while allowing this person to go out and endanger themselves and other people.

This place gets teenagers. I have heard the classroom part is a little boring, but you could always do it online. For the BTW lessons, I can't give enough shout outs--easy online scheduling, will pick up and drop off your kid at their school, your home (if you live in the very large pick up area), or the school. Here is the best part, they send a TON of reminders starting a few days before the lesson (because they get teenagers).
In addition to the email reminders they called my kiddo. When it came to her driving test--again, email reminders including what she needed to bring. Then the night before the instructor called her talked about the test and made sure she knew exactly what she needed to bring both for the test and the DMV after. Then on the day of, a detailed email to the parent with the same info.
I think most of the instructors are teachers or have other jobs so you can't always get them by phone during the day AND if you email you will have a response before you know it. Highly recommend Arvada Driving School!

Disappointing! A little deceiving, they don't care to take your money, later to find out they have a "Pick Up Area" no where on the website or on the paperwork my grandson received after taking his 32 hours class, talks about their "Pick Up Area", as a matter of fact that paperwork says "we will pick you up from your home" NOT TRUE! Nobody cared to let us know when we registered if we were ok having to take my grandson to the school to get his driving lessons. I think that is deceiving. I wouldn't recommend this place!

After an incident with a group of cyclists and one of the school 's instructors, the owner, Ben, took steps to make things right, including additional training for his driving instructors around Share The Road laws. Mistakes happen. How we choose to respond, learn, and grow from them matters. The owner of this school took real action and it is SO appreciated! Kudos, to Ben!

If you want to learn how to road rage and ignore the law this is the place to go. I used to certify CDL instructors and I would fire an instructor who behaved as unprofessionally and unsafely as the one who was reported to the Arvada police and Jeffco sheriff. That instructor was pounding on windows and screaming at bicycle riders all while insisting that the poor student ignore the 3 foot to pass law.

Arvada Driving is simply the best driving school in the state. They show true passion for making sure their student drivers are well educated about the law and best driving techniques. I've looked around at many of the other schools and even attended Drive Safe, all they cared about was getting my money. When I took the test at Arvada, the instructor told me they wouldn't take my money if I failed! Awesome right there! The instructor was so amazing and encouraging during my test. Thanks again Arvada Drive!
