WDS driver ed classes offer personalized, one-on-one instruction at times that are convenient. They even offer door-side pickup for the driving lessons. Mike believes that one-on-one instruction builds confidence and is a key to greater safety. He says few, if any public school courses offer one-on-one instruction behind the wheel. In large, oversized summer classes, important points can be missed. Many students across Kansas are currently forced to take their academic driver ed course work on line, due to budget cuts in certain districts. In a crowed van or car, a teen may worry what their peers in the backseat think, or may be put in danger by another student driver.

In the classroom, WDS emphasizes defensive driving and stresses the importance of having a good attitude and using common sense. Some high risk areas for teen drivers include driving with other teen passengers, driving after 9 p.m., unwillingness to wear seat belts, riding with an immature or impaired driver, and the use of cell phones/text messaging while driving.

Mike Johnson has good news for parents & teens --your family's summer schedules need not be held hostage by lengthy, drawn-out high school driver's ed programs.Mike is the owner of Wichita Driving School & Wichita Driving School East which offer year-round driver education courses for students who have busy schedules, vacation or camp conflicts, or have been left out of the school program due to date of birth. Now in its 8th year, WDS allows teens to get qualified to drive at their convenience.

Great school! Tons of knowledge & experience given to new drivers, well worth the money. The office staff Ladies politely answered all my questions. Mike taught both my kids the in's and outs of safe and defensive driving. The driving scheduling was easy and the door to door pick up was a blessing.

Mike (the owner) is Amazing~ cannot say enough about the positive experience myself and my 15 year old daughter along with her friends had @ Wichita Driving School, Inc. Mike is a hands on owner and works to make sure you receive everything and more than you were expecting! 12 months later now using Mike again for defensive Driving to lower our insurance on a teenage driver! Love this place! thanks for the recommendation to save money Mike!

Great experience! We're from Hutchinson, they made arrangements to meet in Newton, very accommodating. Website explains the driving laws in great detail, convenient with classes every week, with defensive driving classes monthly.
