A favorite part of training with Behind the Wheel is practice lessons in one of our Audi A4 Quattro. Your goal is to get your driver's license. Our goal is to make you a safe driver on the road. My name is Tom Flynn. I own and operate Behind The Wheel School of Driving.I have lived in the Heights community for 30 years, raising a family with my wife Penny - a teacher at Onaway Elementary in Shaker Heights. Before starting the BTW School I worked as an outside sales representative for P&G. I saw examples of good, bad and ugly driving practices exhibited on our roadways daily. During those 20 plus years, I won numerous safe driving awards while logging three times the miles of the average driver. Behind the Wheel School of Driving allows me to follow my passion for instructing children. I have been active in coaching both hockey and baseball the past 17 years as a hobby. Today, my staff and I are pleased to offer state certified driving instruction based on safety and respect for others who share the road. Learning to drive can be fun! So come along for the ride, better yet you drive!

It was an amazing experience. I was able to learn a lot from the in cars. There was great communication and ways to communicate with them. There was great service. They always arrived on time and notified if there was an issue. I had Mr. Flynn for all 4 of my lessons and he was a terrific instructor. He gave out amazing tips and ways to drive. I would greatly recommend them.

Excellent communication, care and instruction. Around the time that my daughter started her lessons she got a concussion. Ari, the owner, was helpful and flexible in helping my daughter reach her goal of getting her license. Mr. Flynn was her driving instructor for all of her in-car lessons and he was an excellent and patient instructor. Highly recommend!

My son Fred completed his drivers course with Mr. Ferris and Mr. Flynn. Both instructors were very professional and encouraging during Fred's in car sessions. They gave him great advice and tips that I immediately noticed an improvement in Fred's driving. Fred took his classes online, I like that he was able to retake the classes as many times he felt needed.
I want to also thank Ari, each and every time I reached out via text he responded timely. Communication is the key in all aspects of business. I've sent all 3 of my kids to BTW and if I had to utilize or recommend a drivers Ed program again, BTW is my choice!

Behind the wheel is a great driving school. The owner is very nice and answers questions and concern in a timely manner. Mr. Flynn is an amazing driving instructor. I am grateful that I was able to have him as my driving instructor. Mr. Flynn is kind and friendly and also very encouraging and engaging during the 2 hours. Overall great place to go for driving school and very great instructor to have.

Mr Tom is very professional instructor with wide experience, he gives you short, quick advices and teaching methods that easy to follow and remember. The price is very affordable and cheaper than other schools I've contacted. He will give you tips and concentrate on your weakness points to improve. I just passed my exam after 4 hours training with him!
Just understand and follow what he says and you will make it :)

Thank you so much to the Behind the Wheel instructors for preparing my son to drive. My only wish is that his older brother could have attended BTW when learning to drive, he was not nearly as well prepared. Thank you again to the BTW instructors and am highly recommending this driving school to all!
