Behind the Wheel for Teens
Report
Minimum age to obtain a Virginia Driver's License is 16 years and 3 months. Must complete 36 periods of Classroom Instruction (Valid Dec-1 Certificate). Must complete 14 periods of Behind the Wheel Instruction, which includes 7 periods of driving and 7 periods of observation. A period is defined as 50 minutes. Must hold valid Virginia driver's permit for a Minimum of 9 months. Teens under 19 are required to have a 45 hour (15 hours at night) driving log.Department of Motor Vehicles and Department of Education will furnish a log book to document driving time, place and activity. Each of the 7 lessons consist of 50 minutes of driving, and 50 minutes of observation. The instructor will give students (under 19) their driving test, and once they have passed the test they are issued a temporary 180 day license (provided the above Department of Motor Vehicle requirements have been met).

Save your time and pick this driving school! I been to two other driving schools and all they did was leave me even more confused about driving and zero confidence. ABS did the exact opposite. Jorge installs confidence in you and teaches you exactly what you need to know, not only for the road test but after as well. I finally got my license and I would like to thank Jorge & ABS driving school for that!

Great experience at ABS driving school! Jorge taught me everything I needed to know to be a good, safe driver on the road and they are very flexible with scheduling. I passed the road test on my first try and Jorge is a great instructor to learn from! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend learning from him!

Took my road test for the first time today and I passed it, thanks to George! He is a great instructor and I'm thankful to have him teach me and guide me, he's very positive and he prepares you for everything. He is helpful and has patience and all you have to do is listen to him and stay focused on the road. His teaching helped me improve my driving skills. I would highly recommend George to anyone. George is a phenomenal instructor, he cares about how you drive after the road test and makes sure you are prepared for the real world. He will bust your balls because he cares about your safety! I took 10 lessons with George and I don't regret a single one, I learned something new every lesson! He even took me onto the highway which helped me with my nerves and become a better driver. I passed my road test the first try and felt super confident throughout it. If you want to be a GOOD driver, go to George at ABS!

Amazing experience. I came here with a failure of five times but Mr. George did an incredible teaching for me. He showed me the most easiest and effective way of parallel park. I had developed some bad habits too from other school. However he fixed it for me. Always recommend this place for everyone.

I loved working with Miss Stephanie. She helps to make you feel extremely comfortable and relaxed by conversing with you and the other students. While doing this, she emphasizes safe driving and gives you several tips to achieve this end. By the time you take the test, you feel perfectly prepared, and it does not seem any more stressful than the previous behind the wheel sessions. Overall, I would describe Miss Stephanie as an experienced, friendly, and attentive instructor.
At the moment, three people in my family have passed the driver's test on the first try, and I know that my younger siblings will have a great teacher when looking to get their license.
