Benavides Driving School

Benavides is an excellent school with the best instructors! Mr. Gonzalez was my instructor, and he was extremely through in his teaching and in letting us know about the nature of driving on the streets. Everything about Benavides is amazing, except for the secretaries up front. One of them is pretty rude and very much a smart Alec when it come to anything.

She gives off very bad energy, and one time she told me to watch with a look that said "Watch this, " as she got after a student. There was a time where I needed to be at the school at a certain time, but there was a long line of people ahead of me, so when I finally got to her, she told me I had to wait another hour because I was late when she was the one who had kept me in the line so long.

The other secretary sees all this and doesn't say a thing. I've never seen her lift a finger to even answer the phone without having to ask someone else what she was supposed to do. All in all, Benavides is a good school with not so good secretaries

When I found out I had to take the written and driving tests again in order to get my drivers license again I panicked, but then I remembered how confident I felt after taking the young driver education class at Benavides. I decided I would go that route and take the adult drivers education class and test for both written and driving with them. I can say it was great to have a refresher course and I felt comfortable taking my driving test with Benavides instead of DPS because of my terrible test anxiety. Definitely recommend them to anyone who has to take any driving course or any type of court assigned class they offer!

My family has been using BDS for driving Lessons for many years, took a defensive driving course with Mr V.Benavides and he made it go by fast highly recommended

My experience at this school has been very good. Thanks to my instructor Mr. O I have felt like I learned something new everyday and I highly recommend this school.

Very poor customer service! They offer the driving test but once you go they give you a huge hassle on documents that really are not required. The lady that's at the window is very rude and at the end she told us to go to the DPS office. If she would've told us this since the beginning then we wouldn't have even bothered and enquired about it. They shouldn't advertise services that they can't fulfill.

We enquired at Salazar Driving School and they were very courteous and assisted us in what we needed because right now trying to go to the dps office is a mess. We just wanted our newly 18 yr old to get his license. Go to Salazar driving school instead because you will get nowhere at benavides. Very dissapointed!

I could definitely recommend Benavides Driving School, I was able to get my permit and took my Driving test with them. They teach you everything you need to know. From the office staff and instructors they are all willing to work with you and help you along the way. Definitely felt comfortable with them.

Mr. Benavides made the 6 hour defensive driving class go by relatively fast and it was pretty interesting! They do a good job at having a variety of lecture, videos, examples, and activities. They do a really good job at preparing you for the exam and making sure you succeed. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm glad I chose Benavides!

Thank you, to the very helpful office staff at Benavides Driving School. My son Is a awesome driver. It was almost incredible, since he had no experience at all. He loved the instructors they have patience to beginners. They made it fun and at the same time they taught him to be a serious and responsible driver. I feel I obtained very good informational safety and regulations for driving. I highly recommend this school for anyone needing the class. Victor Benavides is a great instructor.

I have nothing but praise for my experience at Benavides. I recently moved to the RGV area and I needed to learn how to drive as soon (and as safely) as possible. Mr. Gonzalez is a patient, firm instructor who explained the key driving concepts fully and taught me how to become a more confident driver. He is a wonderful professional who cares about you and developing your driving skills.

I appreciated the many drills and repetitions behind the wheel so that I knew what to expect on the road. I appreciate the help and kind support of the staff at Benavides. Thank you for helping me pass my driving test!
