Youth In Progress Driving School

Over the past several years, kids involved in systems throughout the commonwealth have become more dependent on that system and are not exiting the system with the skills needed to become productive contributing members of their communities. Through the Youth in Progress after school program, teenagers will be assisted in their transition to adulthood. The will acquire the necessary tools and skill sets to function on their own. The focus of the YIP program is to help youth develop daily living skills such as money management, interpersonal and professional communication, conflict resolution, job coaching, and healthy living skills.

In addition to adolescents involved with state systems we offer this program to any teenager who wants to both develop and demonstrate his or her own individual leadership skills. Empowering youth and developing their leadership capabilities will provide them the opportunities to significantly contribute to their communities through the community service projects they will be involved in as part of the program. Examples of this include organizing and executing food drives that benefit local food banks, volunteering at the local senior center, animal shelter or homeless shelters. This instills in them a sense of civic responsibility and the value of giving back to the communities.
