I took segment 1 on Zoom from Rockford. It was super easy to use and I never had any issues. The Gimkits are fun and the Google Forms are great because you can get instant feedback. Scheduling the in person drives were super easy too. Mr. Porter kept the class fun and entertaining and Mr. Faulds (the in-car instructor) was great at providing feedback and tips on the road. I would recommend this class to people considering other companies.

My daughter's test was scheduled for 12:45. All my daughter did was park the car and the rude instructor, who was welcoming for nervous new drivers, gave my daughter no instructions other than park there. The instructor failed my daughter just from parking. She told her you're allowed 12 pts and she started with 7. HOW? We waiting in the parking lot to watch the next road test that was scheduled for 1:00 and yes she failed that young man as well.
This lady failed 2 people in a matter of 25 mins. This place is a scam that is just taking money from people. I will be reporting to BBB as well as contact their corporate office. My daughter retook her road test today with Michigan Driving School and passed with no problem. I highly recommend. Please don't waste your time or money.

Unbelievably horrible experience with our sons road test. The man that gave the test was beyond rude, my son is very polite and greeted him upon arriving which was ignored and met with him immediately barking out orders. When my son failed to understand exactly what he was saying he mocked him and yelled "do you speak English!" After about a 2 minute parking test which did not even come close to following the guidelines set out by the Secretary of State such as doing an inspection of the car first, followed by a test of the basic controls, he failed him, never even made it in on the road.
He did not read him any directions for the parking as they are supposed to and skipped everything else. It was very clear from the get go he wanted to fail him as quickly as possible. He even stated that they needed to leave because he had someone else coming to test in ten minutes. HOW would he have someone scheduled to test in ten minutes when the test takes about an hour, unless he had planned to fail him.
We will be following up with the state and the bbb. Really wish we had read all these reviews. There is a reason they are the lowest rated driving school out there. Their unlawful test practices and unprofessionalism is something I have never encountered elsewhere, in fact this is the first negative review I've ever left. Should also add my son passed his road test elsewhere days later.

Amazing! I love how the zoom classes are from 6:45-8:45. It makes it so much easier to be in sports and not have to worry about missing practices. Also the zoom meetings make it possible for you to join anywhere making it way more accessible. It is very much so a time efficient alternative to in person drivers training. Mr. Porter is such a good drivers instructor that cares about his students just as much as he cares about teaching us the material we must get through. Even though the class is online everyone is just as engaged in what we are learning. Overall 10/10. Highly recommend!

The way this company is run is completely unacceptable! My son started classes the beginning of November. Drives were not offered until starting in mid-December and not finished until MARCH. They cancelled 9 times and we said yes to every drive offered. At the end, they wait 2 weeks to tell me (very rudely, when I call to inquire where our certificate is) that WE took to long to complete the drives and my son needs to take 4 makeup classes. Are there any available soon? No.
No there are not. Mary Jo was unbelievably rude, insulted my parenting skills (?!?) and told me that if I wrote a negative review, she would say that I was lying because I "have no proof". I have emails, texts and phone messages.not that that helps at all. Awful experience! Possibly the worst decision I've ever made (and I once purchased a time share, so.).

We were very pleased with the classes and their ability to prepare for the driving test. But when my daughter went to take the final driving test, the woman was unbelievably rude. Poor instructions, snide remarks, and very unprofessional. With a nervous 16 year old, there is no reason to add to the pressure. There is no need to act this way. Oh, and lest this be seen as simply a "sour grapes" negative review, our daughter passed with flying colors even with this woman. Beware and only use Courtesy if you want to deal with someone like this.

Absolute Nightmare and waste of $430. What to expect? A 3 week class with drag out to 5+ due to their lack of ability to schedule drive times. My daughter was 25 minutes late the second day due to the driver having to get tested for Covid. The teacher assured my daughter if she was 15 minutes early the next two days, that would count as a make up.
She did that and passed the test with a 97%. A week after completion of the drive times, I emailed them to find out when to expect her certification and was told she has to make up the 25 minutes. There was absolutely NOTHING in her student portal stating that. Due to her father having major surgery, I had to pay someone to drive my daughter the extra 2 weeks after the class ended to do the drive times.
Why wasn't this scheduled within the 3 weeks? If she was short 25 minutes class time, why was she allowed to take the written test? The only resolution the manager Mary Jo can come with is put the make up on stand by in event a person cancels. In essence, $430 gone. Like other reviews, Mary Jo is nasty and argumentative. PS. Communication is key to good customer service. Unfortunately, Mary Jo and Courtesy doesn't want to hear that either. They are right and the customer is always wrong. Lesson learned, read reviews.

STAY AWAY! This is a money milking machine they run. Now I know why they have bad ratings, see for yourself. First, due to a 3rd brake light out, we could not do the test. OK, I learned that this is a State law(why, I do not know because you can drive with the other 2 lights legally). OK my fault. Pay another $30 on top of the $60, to re-take. My son just about nailed the parking portion. Rubbed against one cone.
The rest was perfect. Well the lady instructor indicated that he was outside the lines in a few areas. 100%, not true. I watched with my own eyes. They are allowed 6 points/deductions. He had 1. Where are the other 2, 3, 4, 5, and even 6? Are you kidding me? So didn't make it out of the parking lot again, and now need to pay $40 more? Absolute joke.
I am a businessman, and always do the right thing for the customer. When I called their alleged HQ, the lady was super rhude, and not willing to assist, or offer a lower price. Really had zero empathy, just wants the money. Do yourself and your kid a favor, go anywhere but here!

My son took the 3 day segment 2 in November. He took and passed the test on the 3rd day. We were told the certificate would be emailed. It never came so I called. Come to find out, when my son went to sign in on day 2, he asked for the sign-in sheet. The instructor was busy and told him to do it at the end of class instead (not the procedure). By that time, my son with A.D.D. had forgotten to ask for it AGAIN!
Now Courtsey wants us to make up the two hours they claim he wasn't there for- but he was! We have to wait until the end of December when he was done Nov 17. They won't even let us schedule his road test now, he did pass the rest remember. Depending on location, right now they are booking the end of January. My son turned 16 on Oct 5. His Christmas gifts are based off of him having his license (getting a car), that he can't even drive.
Once we return to school Jan 4, he still won't be able to drive. As a junior, he leaves early each day for early college (10:30am) and their is no bus. All because he didn't get to sign in at the start of class. What poor record keeping. How was he able to take the rest of you thought he missed a class. Very disappointing.

Had my test with Jason at the Marysville spot, as Port Huron didn't have an appointment soon enough. The test went very well and smooth, Jason communicated my weaknesses effectively - although I didn't receive feedback on the parking section of the test, but definitely forgivable for the time of day. I understand the concerns of parents who've put money into classes and more extensive testing, but for a simple road test in the Port Huron area, it was a pleasurable experience and I recommend it.

Test here if you'd like to be seemingly intentionally failed. The instructor told my daughter to pull up to but not over the line, they deducted a point for not pulling up close enough (without giving instruction as to how close to be). She then explained that she had to back into the spot, then deducted a point for not backing in far enough (even though she was completely in the spot, again without explaining how far to back up.) When parallel parking my daughter was not fully in the box, my daughter didn't realize she could just turn the wheel and put it in drive to straighten out (for a loss of one point), she proceeded to restart the parallel parking all over again, pulling fully out, twice.
When I questioned the instructor about it the instructor told me "No one told her to do that, she made that decision on her own"; she's 15. Never even got out on the road. I asked what the road test was like so that my daughter could hear it to maybe get *some* value out of the money spent, she told us to read the description at the Sec of State page.
I don't expect you to show her how to drive, but at least put her in the best position to be able to execute what she is being tested on while taking the test. Two days later (with zero practicing in between) my daughter passed the test with a different company. This is my youngest of three children so I've been through this repeatedly. Seemed like they were more interested in getting her to schedule an additional test; like it was all about the money. Strangely I was instructed not to photo or video the test in a way that was really odd, like it was for legal reasons (which they can't prohibit since it's done in a government owned parking lot). I wish I had read reviews first. Seemed like a total scam.

My son took both level 1&2 as well as his road test through Courtesy. Excellent experience all around. Great instruction that left him prepared to become a safe and competent new driver. He took his road test last week with Tom at the Madison Heights test location. Tom gave clear instructions and was formal yet very fair. My son passed his test and was left with some good advice about areas of his driving that he could improve upon. We will definitely use Courtesy for our younger kids when it is time for driver's education.
