Allan Cantor opened the first Cantor's Driving School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1976. This father of four was a History Teacher and Disciplinarian at Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia. He began teaching students how to drive part-time and on the weekends. Soon, he had taught nearly every teen in the area how to drive.Allan was the best driving instructor around. He was known for his jovial personality and relatability with his students. A stop off to grab a famous Philadelphia cheesesteak during a lesson was not out of the question - and something his students loved about him. Of course it was the 1970s and times were different then, but Cantor's Driving School has always been about Family, Community, and Safety.
As years went by, Cantor's Driving School grew into the neighboring Philadelphia suburbs. And as his children grew, his youngest son Frank joined the family business. Learning the ins-and-outs of being a great driving instructor from his father, Frank was able to expand Cantor's Driving School into four states - Pennsylvania, Florida, Nevada and Arizona.
Today, Frank Cantor owns and operates Cantor's Driving School with his wife, Cheri, continuing the tradition of a family-owned and operated business. They are committed to teaching the pillars of safe driving to their students - Respect for the Road, Respect for Other Drivers, and Awareness of Outside Distractions.

Cantors Driving School was incredibly helpful in helping me get past my fear of driving. I was very nervous before starting lessons, and wasn't sure if I'd be successful on the road. Thankfully, my instructor, Skip Mcomber, was kind, patient, and gave me useful tips to take with me moving forward. If you're just starting out like me, and are seeking driving lessons, I highly recommend Cantors because it was a truly great learning experience!

Just got my certificate of completion for this driving course from my instructor Kathleen today! She was an immensely wonderful and pleasant driving instructor. She was patient with me, pointed out and critiqued my mistakes, and let me through the process of becoming both a safe and better driver overall. Along with that, she was very kind, humorous, and fun to talk to on our learning sessions, with plenty of stories to share to make the time fly by. I would recommend both her, and this driving school for anyone looking for a great and comfortable "learn to drive" experience.

I love this driving school!! They are so nice, I got Skip as my instructor and he makes you feel so comfortable driving. He's a very nice and social guy. He gave me lots of tips and tricks with the rules of the road and driving. I only needed 4 lessons, and I got my TCC! I'm glad I got these lessons, it honestly made driving a lot easier! 10/10 recommend getting lessons from Cantor's.

Cantour's driving school is truly great program I encourage anyone who's learning to drive to partake in this program. My teacher was Boyd he was patient and helpful, whilst also telling great stories keeping the long (but beneficial) driving lessons interesting. I encourage anyone who's considering this program to take all 4 days as that is the most beneficial and includes the opportunity to take the actual driving test.

My daughter Becca just completed the Green Light Package with Monty. Monty was so professional, understanding about my daughters nervousness being on the road. He spoke with me after every lesson to go over what she needs practice on and told me every where they went. She even went on the freeway, which I as a mother am scared to take her on! Becca will be going to the MVD in two weeks to pick up her drivers license.
I will be nervous to let my child go solo for the first time, but know that she has received exceptional training from Cantor's so that eases my mind!! My baby is growing up:) Thank You Frank for handling some scheduling changes I had to make and always was so nice to talk to. Happy Thanksgiving!

I purchased the 10 hour driving package as a complete beginner and was able to pass my road test and get my liscense the same day. I certainly got what I paid for! Thanks to Cantor Driving School. Our son gained confidence driving, and he learned much. He passed with a perfect score!!! The instructor was friendly, patient, and prompt every day of instruction. The instructor knew the driving road course well. We were so relieved when we left it to the pros. This nervous mom couldn't handle being the driving instructor for her son anymore. It was a great experience for us all.

My last lesson was yesterday. i'm so happy i chose this driving school. My instructor was Trace Dawson and I was so nervous to drive on my first lesson. He was so patient with me and gave me all the tips and tricks to be a good driver. We not only went on good routes to practice, they were also extremely fun. My instructor was very good at helping calm my nerves when driving and now i don't get nervous at all.
The test at the end of my 4 lessons was easy to pass after i had all the practice. Thank you so much for all the help! I definitely recommend signing up for this driving school :)))

My daughter Sidona had Trace Dawson as her driving instructor, he did amazing at teaching her. She was very anxious and nervous about driving beforehand, he helped her build confidence in her driving. She said that he was very kind, helpful, and a great teacher. I would highly recommend this school for anyone who needs to learn how to drive, and I would even recommend Trace as their instructor. Thank you for helping my daughter succeed in her driving!

I completed my driving lessons this morning with Kathleen H. as my instructor and she was awesome! She's a smart and funny woman, and makes the experience as painless as possible while also teaching proper driving skills. I truly appreciated the relaxed (yet professional) ambience which helped ease my anxiety about driving. I passed my road test and finally got my driver's license after stressing about it for years.

My driver, Rachelle, from the first minute of the first lesson, was very understanding and I could tell she was trying her best to cater her lessons to my experience and me as a person. She was very helpful, calm, and understanding. Not once during the entire class was I yelled at nor did I feel any more anxiety due to my instructor. Overall, great results, great confidence booster when it comes to being behind the wheel, and a great service overall.

I'm so thankful for this driving school and especially to my instructor Trace Dawson, I have anxiety and this is my first time driving but I feel so blessed because I have good instruction very professional, kind, and very consistent. I never feel anxious I feel comfortable and have a very nice car to drive. I highly recommend taking this driving school who feel worried about their driving skill.

I finished my last lesson yesterday, and I think that this school is one of the best that Arizona can offer when it comes to learning how to drive. My instructor, Kathleen H, was immensely helpful in calming my anxiety and explaining what to do and not do. She was very thorough when critiquing my driving and would always tell me what to expect for my next lesson so I could practice and show up prepared. Kathleen is very compassionate and clearly cares about the student's safety and mindset when on the road.

I highly recommend both my instructor Jeff and Cantor's Driving School to any students. I really enjoyed my driving lessons. My instructor Jeff was very exceptional. He is the best instructor who taught me from the scratch. He really gave me confidence in my driving skills and was very effective. He helped me learn so many driving skills within the time frame that we had in 10 hrs of package.

I had driving instructor Rachelle and she was very nice and patient with me. I'm used to nervous passengers like my mom teaching me to drive. So having her was a great change. I learned more in my 2.5 hour session then the past on and off driving i've been doing for years. I will definitely be doing another session before my road test. one thing. i find it weird that they don't send a confirmation email or text letting you know that it was booked. like yes you can log on to their website to check your appointments, but a text or email would definitely be better.

I was initially hesitant to pay for driving classes but coming from a different country, I'm glad I did! Lisa was my instructor and she was super nice and helps you learn how to drive in a calm manner. She helped me drive in different settings and helped me become aware of other drivers since they don't always do what they are supposed to do. Never once did I feel uncomfortable or scared to drive since Lisa gave me instructions in a calm manner so it was definitely an enjoyable experience. If you want to pick a driving instructor, I would highly recommend Lisa!

I am 15 just about to turn 16 I was very nervous about driving before this course but it has changed my perspective and safety of the road it is very easy to drive and be safe while driving I learned many techniques and a how to drive in many situations. Jeff was my driving instructor and I would definitely recommend him he is a great guy and overall very happy and makes you calm while driving I would recommend to anyone needing help driving!!

Let's just say if you're not going to Cantor's Driving School, then you're missing out on such an awesome experience. I'm currently 23 years old and haven't driven a car since I first got my permit in 2016, so I was terrified. Rest assured I had an awesome instructor, Ms. Kathleen H., that helped me through my nerves. Every single time she helped me boost my confidence more and more!

I had a great time and my instructor, Rachelle was amazing. I thought she was amazing and when I made mistakes or needed some guidance she wasn't overly harsher but made sure that I understood my mistakes and how to approach it next time I faced it again. So when I have a younger sibling who needs to do driving school I would come here and i would like to have Rachelle because of how great she was.
Side Note: she is very friendly and makes you feel secure, safe, and somewhat cared for. Overall an A+ place to help get your drivers license and get some experience under the belt.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Cantor's Driving School!! Sean is AMAZING and was the perfect instructor. He helped me overcome a fear of driving and made me comfortable, confident, and at ease, all the while enjoying each of my 5 sessions. I credit him with passing my road test the first try! Every single member of the Cantor's team was fabulous- they were informative, supportive, friendly, and clearly approach each client with compassion and professionalism. Sean, Dani, Heather, Cameron, Kim, Sherri- everyone was an absolute pleasure to work with!!

My daughter had a great experience. Her instructor, Lisa, was fantastic! They went on adventures downtown (parallel parking, one-way roads, etc.), driving on freeways, and even out to Saguaro Lake! Lisa did my daughter's driving test also, which was less stressful and a time-saver. I highly recommend!

I was a student at Cantor's Driving School AZ and I really enjoyed my lessons and the professionalism that the school gives. The driving school was very helpful and easy to reach for any queries that I had. My instructor Jeff was very remarkable. He was simply the BEST instructor!! A huge thank you to Cantor's Driving School! Teaching my teenage son to drive was challenging and stressful! Making the phone call to schedule lessons was the best decision ever! From the first phone call to the driving test, it was the easiest process ever. Gene, my son's instructor, was awesome! Showed up on time, followed all CDC guidelines and taught my son how to drive.
My son was very prepared for the driving test that he took with Glenn through Cantors. Cantor's Driving school provides quality lessons with reliable instructors. The driving test was stress free, actually the entire process was stress free! I am so grateful to Gene for teaching my son how to drive. I definitely recommend Cantor's Driving School! My instructor, Emily, was the best driving instructor I could've hoped to have. During my three lessons with her, she patiently helped me to refine driving skills and made sure to explain reasons for each route, turn, etc. Her patience and kindness made driving stress-free, while also allowing me to become a better driver and pass my road test this morning!
