Our school opened in August, 2007, to offer Pearland and the surrounding communities a new option for the best in driver education and training. We are members of the Texas Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (TDTSEA). Our school and all our instructors are licensed by the Texas Education Agency.
The tremendous growth in this area has created the need for more driver education training schools. Our goal is to offer the community an exciting new option when choosing the school for your child's driver training. Probably one of the most important decisions you will make concerning your child and his or her safety. It is our intention to lead the trend toward new, comfortable and cutting edge training in a skill that your child's life could depend upon.

My son and I just left Silverlake Driving School and I have never experienced such a level of unprofessionalism. My daughter attended years ago without a problem. My son did everything online 2 years ago and received his permit. All he needed was the road test. I called and set an appointment
for 11:30 and was told to bring proof of insurance and the permit. When I went in to pay, the woman was asking for a certificate. I told her when we made the appointment, we were not told to bring any certificate and that he has been through the preliminaries 2 years ago and already has a permit. I didn't mind the fact that she was telling us to bring a certificate. All I would have to do is download a copy and bring it back. The actual problem was her rudeness. She proceeded to tell my son that she texted him the information last night. I informed her that she couldn't have, because she does not have his number, and I made the appointment. He is not a student of the school. We are independent of the school, just looking to take an adult road test. She insisted that she texted him and that she dots all her i's and crosses her t's. She then leaned back in her chair and continued to rudely drink her soda. I told her that we were going to take our money someplace else. She mumbled stupid N-word under her breath as I was storming out. I turned around and went back in and asked her for a manager's name or someone over her. She leaned in and said, "No, I'm not giving it to you!" For her to be so bold she may not suffer any consequences and feels comfortable behaving in that manner, but I just want the public to know the level of ignorance I dealt with today. She would not give me her name, but she is an obese woman with unkept, dark blondish, hair. She looks to be about 50ish or older and obviously works the front desk at times. Through my research I suspect her name to be Patty Reese.
I have also contacted the Texas dept of Licensing and Regulation to file a complaint and will let everyone I know with teens looking to get their license that Pearland driving school and its affiliate Silverlake driving school is not the place to go. I also plan to tell this story to a Houston-based podcast that discusses matters such as this. We have already gotten better treatment at Houston Driving School. I really wish I had contacted them first.

Forth time teaching a kid to drive, first time in Texas. After doing an online school for the classroom hours and parent directed for the road lessons, I was anxious about making an appointment with DPS. I have had a few unpleasant experiences with getting my older kids their driver's licenses and, with the Texas DPS. So, I decided to use Silverlake Driving School for my daughter's road test. Silverlake was amazing!
They were very clear upfront what forms we needed and they checked over each one to make sure that they were filled out correctly. My daughter was very comfortable with the instructor. She gave my daughter clear instructions and my daughter passed! The subsequent trip to DPS was the easiest trip I have ever made. Thank you Silverlake Driving School!

I never give out bad reviews. I'm sure they have amazing staff here, however it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone on the phone or to return emails to simply book my teen to finish her driving credits. They say in the contract we only have a two month deadline after they've completed and graduated the bookwork/classroom credits and even gotten a permit issued from the DMV, however how can a parent book their student for the remainder classes with their driving instructors if they don't communicate, answer their phones or even respond back to the parents via email?
My daughter is about to loose her entire summers efforts because of this school. They took the money for the course but won't complete their side of the deal. I've sent numerous emails now. I'm super frustrated and wouldn't recommend this place at all for beginner drivers looking to get their drivers licenses.

The wait before hand didn't take long at all and they were patient with me and my questions. The woman who tested with me was very charismatic and sweet but straight to the point. During the test she was very sweet and was soft voiced on directions and even made small talk to calm my nerves. All around I didn't feel nervous and the ride went smoothly! I wish I had gotten her name cause she was such a sweetheart to ride with!

This is my 2nd bad experience with this driving school. No problem With the teacher and owner but I was very rudely asked by my driving instructor if I have been vaccinated witch goes against my hippa rights. The driving instructor also included during the drive that you HAVE to stop at a stop sign when you are turning right (right on red) witch doesn't fall into place for stop signs. you have to stop at a stop sign no matter what. This is my 2nd bad experience and cannot wait to get done with my last drives.

Silverlake driving school was more then helpful when it came time for my son to get his driver's license. Every step of the way from getting his learning permit to his drive times and all the way to doing his driving test, they were there to help and assist the entire way. The staff was very knowledgeable on the entire process as the manager and teacher there used to work at DPS.
Most other driving schools we looked at didn't offer everything this school offered and that's what drove us to sign up for this one. Our son is rather tall and they seem to have quite a great selection of cars that accommodated him. When it comes time for our daughter we will happily choose this driving school again!

Excellent place to go to if you want to pass your road test on the first time. The instructor elderly and friendly, she will help you pass to the best of her ability. Awareness, is everything. Work on yielding to ongoing traffic. DON'T GO UNTIL ITS A 100% FREE - OR ELSE YOU'LL FAIL. Braking is also key don't start breaking when you feel like it brake when you see the stop light or sign.
Speed up when its green. Don't be nervous. Just master the yield and braking, awareness, awareness, awareness. Constantly ask yourself WHO IS BESIDE YOU?- and check using all three mirrors If you can become so good to know always know who's around you and to TURN YOUR HEAD when doing a lane change- you'll be fine. Another recommendation is a backup camera for parallel parking.
However she's not too strict on it AS LONG AS YOU DON'T HIT THE POLES. Indicate going and indicate coming out to receive 2 points(out of 9). If you cant then just try and park your car. If you can master those things- you'll do great.:)

Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value Would give 0 stars if possible. Terrible owners. Establishment is absolutely filthy. Seen the owners and teachers drive. Not up to modern day standards. 15/10 would not recommend. Take a few extra minutes to drive to the next driving school a town over. Pitiful.

Great school! Took 6 hour adult class. I learned so much and did GREAT on my permit test. And took my behind the wheel road test with them the next day! Very knowledgeable since the director use to work at DPS on required documents needed and very patient and very good at communicating. Passed my permit test and Behind the wheel road test in one try. So easy to schedule a class or test with them I highly recommend this school!
