As an adult learning to drive can be an insurmountable hill to get over. I went from having no real knowledge of driving to passing my test after a few sessions wiith Alan. I genuinely owe it to AMC to share my story here. Excellent instructor, very patient, and will pinpoint what you need to be great at driving and eventually pass the road test. Could not reccomended someone better. Thanks again AMC :

We contacted several driving instructors for my 16 year old son. We chose Alan from AMC driving school. We certainly made the right choice. Alan was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He quickly gained my son's respect. He was very responsive and offered flexible scheduling. He picked up my son at our house which was very convenient.
Thanks to Alan's instruction, my son easily passed his driving test. The lessons also reduced the cost of my son's automobile insurance. I don't write many reviews but I am writing this one not only for Alan's benefit but for the benefit of those looking for an excellent driving instructor.

My 18 year old son just came home from his first driving lesson with Alan. I had driven with my son in parking lots but I was too nervous to take him on the road. My son spent 2 hours driving on back roads and main roads and came home smiling about it. He's encouraged to keep learning to become a better driver. Thank you to Alan for being a calm and encouraging instructor.

I had scheduled a 2hr class with Alan one week before my road test. He was kind enough to come and pick me up on time from my home. We went to the driving test track in Cranston and he explained me the various steps in the test. It was a pleasant experience with Alan. We had some great conversations starting religion, region, politics, god and life in general.
He is a great human being and does lot of community service in his leisure time. I would surely recommend Alan to any person who want to learn the nuances of driving and to pass the driving test. Thank you Alan!

Alan has not worked with both of my daughters when they were learning to drive. He was always prompt and courteous and very patient. He took them to the places that made me as a mom a little nervous to take them their first few times. He provided both of my daughters with the confidence they needed behind the wheel. I have recommended him for many of my daughters friends and all have been very happy with his Assistance in teaching their children to drive.

I contacted Alan to book driving lessons for my son. Alan was very courteous and made every attempt to accommodate my son's schedule. Every time we left a message, he would returned our calls promptly. My son was very comfortable with him and learned a lot. He passed the road test with no problem, and as a matter of fact the examiner made a comment that he must have had had a very good driving instructor. I would highly recommend this driving school.

I learned how to drive with AMC driving school, and had a great experience. The instructor/owner Allan is great. He was able to work with my schedule and would come into Providence to pick me up for the two hour lessons. We were able to start lessons almost immediately after I contacted him, where other schools I looked into did not have open spots that worked with my work hours for a month or more. Allan does a good job of balancing teaching to the test (taking you to the test area) and learning how to be a safe driver in general.
He will let you use his car for the exam (for a fee), I found it great to use the vehicle I had practiced with for the test. He warns that he will not take you/let you use his vehicle unless he is confident you are ready, and asks "would you be willing to push back your exam if I still have concerns?" as an upfront question, however if you are willing to work with him and let him teach you, this won't be an issue. Tip: Take lessons early in learning, Allan is great at correcting bad habits before they become ingrained and fixed things I had never thought about.
