Our school was founded in 2003 by Gary Embree, a local high school driver's education teacher. A driving instructor since 1995, Gary opened Freedom Driving School with a goal of operating a business that emphasized personal instruction, customer service, and honesty. Since its beginnings as a true home-based business in Sacramento County, we have grown in popularity with teens and their parents.

Our instructors have undergone complete background checks and completed a rigorous training program. All instructors also hold state licenses to teach behind the wheel drivers training and have up to 15 years experience teaching teens to drive. Our vehicles are meticulously maintained and outfitted with a safety break and second rear-view mirror for instructors' use.

Behind-the-Wheel Training for Teens

Report

We provide the six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction into three, two hour lessons. We will schedule your student's first lesson within three weeks of their obtaining a learner's permit. The second and third lessons will be spread out over the course of six months, to allow adequate time for your student to practice skills with you.

Gary Embree

Owner

Gary has been a driving instructor for more than 15 years and has logged more than 7,000 hours training teens how to drive. Gary is also a credentialed high school teacher, currently employed at a local high school. Gary and his wife Kimberly are parents to four young children.

John Villanueva

John has been instructing students with Freedom Driving School since the summer of 2010. The father of a teen son who recently obtained a California drivers license, John is frequently praised by our student's parents for his ability to impart skills and help students gain confidence in their abilities.
