A1 Driving School

John was my instructor and I just want to give him a HUGE HUGE THANK YOU! I remember my last driving lesson he was showing me the routes and he said I have a feeling that you will pass and he was RIGHT! The moment the lady told me at the DMV said I cried and thought of you John! John if you read this I want to thank you for everything! You were so very patient with me and taught me everything I needed to know! if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have passed my test YOU ARE THE BEST! I'm looking forward to this new journey, new Job opportunities and taking my daughters where ever they want : if you need some lessons I say John is your go to man.

My grievance with this company is not intended to bully anyone but to hold the owner accountable for her inability to problem solve, disrespectful tone, and unprofessional behavior while addressing my complaints. Last night my daughter was contacted by A1 Driving School to reschedule her upcoming appointment to an early time. This morning I contacted A1 Driving School and spoke with Natalie the to share with them that my daughter was not available at the rescheduled time.

Apparently my request to hold them accountable was enough to make Natalie cry which lead to the owner Lorraine to contact me. Again I expressed that my daughter was available at the designated in which we booked the appointment or she would be available any day before Sunday. Lorraine explained that Due to the shortage of staff she could not accommodate keeping the original appointment or any day leading up to Sunday.

When I requested that they make a provision including providing me a refund for the inconvenience, Lorraine became irritate accusing me of making her staff cry and she accused me of bullying her (Lorraine) because I expected them to rectify the problem to my satisfaction; not hers. I indicated that my intentions was to file a complaint and she at that point became increasingly aggressive stating that she would refuse service and refund 1/2 the money in which we paid.

In the past I've sent 4 of my kids to this business and many referrals. While I never write negative reviews, I will be intentional on sharing this unpleasant and unprofessional experience. Very disappointed! A1 Driving School, Inc. Family & Friends don't bother wasting your time to patronize any business; including Black or Ethnic own if they are disrespectful and take an unpleasant tone. Lorraine was extremely unprofessional.

My instructor Chris was so amazing! Hes very helpful and outgoing makes it easy to learn from. He has such a great attitude really goes above and beyond to teach driving you can tell he genuinely wants people to pass their test and is not just some teacher robot. I think his boss Natalie should consider him for a raise or a bonus. If thats not possible maybe lunch (sushi).

Critical: Quality Called Lady picked up phone said we are closed and she will refer me back to dmv before I could say anything is 4:23 Yelp says they close at 5 why would she ever pick up the phone would not recommend

Phenomenal! I am immensely grateful for this amazing driving school! As a mother of a teenager, there is nothing more important than your teen learning to drive safely and responsibly. You can absolutely trust and depend on A1 Driving School. They are professional, very experienced, and kind, and their understanding about dealing with family stress is way above and beyond what I expected. A1 is excellent. I was nervous to begin with because I have major fear of the road but was very happy eventually with the results. I was taught to drive by Mr John who was the best teacher I could have had. He was exceptionally skilled, patient and really helped me get over my fears. Very dedicated teacher and helped me pass my test in the first go. I would highly recommend A1 and definitely recommend Mr John.

A little background: I am 23 years old and had never held a license and barely a permit. I grew up in a very urbanized city and never required the need for a car. I later went to a college where EVERYONE biked (go Ags!) and never needed a car then either. Finally, when I graduated and got my first job, THAT is when the need for a car became apparent.

I got my permit in January and practiced here and there with friends' cars but I knew I was going to need something more substantial and reliable to get driving practice in. I began hunting around for driving schools in Midtown and came across A1 Driving School, the highest-rated driving school in the area. I ordered the 3-class + driving test package and had my first class in March. Then, the pandemic hit, and I didn't have my next class until June!

I appreciated A1's stellar communication and constant updates regarding the state of the DMV and my driving lessons through the pandemic. The lessons themselves were extremely helpful - I think anyone who is on the fence about driving or has not had much practice with parents or other experienced drivers should definitely consider it if you have the budget to do so. Getting practice in with a professional can make all the difference to know right from wrong on the road.

The instructors listen to your feedback when you want to get more practice on a certain technique for that driving lesson, and provide polite critiques when a maneuver is done incorrectly. My instructors always made sure I was comfortable and confident in my driving. My only slight gripe is that on my third lesson, the instructor directed me into a car wash, saying that this was part of the driving lesson.

Then I believe they mentioned that this was to clean the car for the next lesson or something to that degree. I was a little confused as to why the car wash needed to be done during my (paid) lesson. The entire car wash experience only took about 10-12 minutes total out of my two-hour lesson but still, every minute of my on-the-road practice counts!

Three lessons and four months later (with a three-month gap during the pandemic) and I can happily say that I passed my driving test on the first try! Thank you very much to A1 Driving School for the lessons and valuable advice taught that I will be taking with me for life as a driver.

They are ok - acceptable. We got 3 lessons plus the drive test. Drivers are prompt, and 2 of the 3 instructors that my son had were personable. They did teach him to drive decently but there were still a ton of things I had to teach him (that's why CA requires the practice outside of lessons!). I thought they could've done a better job preparing him for the actual test. My suggestion for them was to provide kids with a worksheet on "automatic fails".

Really pleased with my experience with this driving school, would definitely recommend this place. I was able to pass my dmv test : Thank you Christine for giving me confidence to pass my test! Only missed 3 points! She hit the breaks on me a few times but I deserved it Don't take their criticism too hard, they're preparing you for the test and it works.

Paid almost $500 for three lessons and to use their car on the dmv test. I was told I was doing everything right yet I Failed my drivers test automatically. I only had one professional instructor who was a bit thorough the rest of the instructors that they gave me were very unprofessional and very sociable about things that were off topic to driving.

A week after I've failed my drivers test I used bills driving school which was cheaper and learned important things that Ive haven't even learned with a1 driving school and I passed my driving test with only 3 errors.

My daughter had her first driving lesson last night. We were nervous for several reasons. First, she had only been behind the wheel in a parking lot, so her experience was basically zero. Second, the lesson was scheduled at night (in the dark). Third, the instructor assigned to us was a male, which made my daughter a little anxious. After I made the appointment I called back to discuss our concerns.

The person I spoke with so kind and caring. She explained their approach, the thorough background checks, the relatability of the situation, and stayed on the phone with me until I had gained the comfort level to move forward. It was an easy decision given the openness of our conversation. My daughter had a really good experience and stated "Robert is awesome! Robert is cool!" We look forward to our next lesson. Thanks A1. We have chosen the DMV package. Hooray! My son has passed! All the A1 instructors were great, but my son said "I really like Andrew; he prepared me well for the test." I hate DMV in general, so extra $$$ was nothing. In fact, if my son failed this time, I was ready to purchase another DMV plan. Well, after all my son had passed, but DMV required another proof of residency before issue his actual driver's license.

I was shocked! Seems like the instructor was surprised, too! So, it wasn't A1's fault; after all it's DMV. Even if DMV has had all documents for the "permit" (which they should have), if/when they ask another document, I say "okay, I'll be there with everything before 5pm." If they say "look right, " I do.jump? S why not.push-ups? How many? For DMV's defence, it's probably all about "Real ID." The process and system may not be in place solid yet.

Here is my suggestion for any teen-parents: start collecting documents such as bank statement/government document with teen's name and address. All the documents I could think of (house deed, utility bills, teen's passport, birth certificate, car registration, insurances, bank statement, credit card statement etc etc, ) were in my hands at both "permit" time and this time. What they really wanted was an "official paper with teen's name and physical address.".just say so, instead of me carrying a whole binder. Good luck to everyone!

I've heard about this driving school through one of my friends and I'm glad to say I don't regret choosing this one. I just had my 3rd lesson yesterday and can say that, over the course of these 3 lesson, I've learned valueable tips for driving and was able to drive comfortably with an instructor in the seat next to me. I had James twice and Paul once. Both instructors are great and friendly. Thank you A1 Driving School

Tailgated me all the way from downtown to west sac on 50, then wouldn't let me merge onto 50. A bit impatient to be teaching.

So I just got my drivers license 3 days ago, let me tell you I didn't have anyone in my family take the time too help me drive and I'm 23 and only had 7 hours of training, 3 sessions and 1 hr before the dmv test! They are such great teachers. I felt bad cuz I never had anyone teach me. But I finally got my License : stay focused and determined and don't be afraid too ask questions and also take their constructive criticism!

These guys are awesome! I had shayla, Andrew, and Chris! They are all awesome! I think I had them all at the perfect times too! Had shayla my first 2 sessions, Andrew on my 3rd and Chris the day of my test. Not too mention my 3rd session was literally 2 days before my actual test! So when I say they are awesome they are awesome!

I must say that A1 has proven to be a fantastic place to receive lessons in driving. my daughter drove today and had good instruction under her belt. Thank you so much for all your assistance! Update. management called back. They apologized and through their kindness and warmth, have restored a happy customer. This business is based on connections and they have done a great job! Thank You!

Very good driving school along with a very good instructor. My daughter switched from one driving school to this one and she absolutely loves it! I am glad that I found them and they are teaching her how to drive. They're very patient with new drivers and they also give real life examples whenever they make Corrections. I totally recommend this driving school for your future drivers :-

I love this school and all the people working are traffic. I love all of them. I am taking about 10 classes with them. And I am learning a lot from all the teachers. It is fantastic time with them.

This is a great driving school! I went here for the first time about 18 years ago to learn how to drive. (Man that makes me sound old lol) and have been here after that twice for Traffic School, its not there fault I continue to break the law. They are great caring instructors and teachers. Passionate about what they do. They will answer all your questions and make sure you are ready to take on the road. I would say they are the best in town, so look no further! We're so happy with A1! After my son's first lesson, he was comfortable behind the wheel. I mean, he's still a bad/new driver, but he's comfortable in the car, and he has the knowledge to become a good, safe driver. Looking forward to his next lesson and driving test!

I had a fairly good experience with A1 driving. I had two amazing instructors Justin and Amanda (and one bad instructor, Shayla). I HIGHLY recommend you schedule your behind the wheel training with them. They're super nice and make a nervous driver feel more at ease. Thanks to them I was able to pass my DMV test on the first try. :) p.s. If you can, schedule your DMV appointment with A1. They take you out an hour before your appointment for some quick review and practice, which is very useful!

Adam was so great! I had no confidence in my driving skills going into my lesson, and what he was able to teach me in our two hours was amazing. I hadn't driven in three years (and even before then it was just enough to pass my drivers test), and he gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to trust myself behind the wheel. Thanks, Adam!

My son just finished his first two hours of behind the wheel training. The instructor was supportive, patient and helped build my nervous teenager's confidence. We have been driving with our son for a few days since his initial training this past week and he is clearly paying attention to his mirrors, blind spots, staying in his lane on turns, anticipating traffic changes, coming to smooth stops and having smooth accelerations, and more. I have great confidence that A1 is producing good drivers.

My daughter loved her teachers. After her last session she was completely confident in her driving skills. She took her behind the wheel the next morning and kicked butt! Thank you guys

Today I drove in the street for the first time and felt completely comfortable with my driver instructor Lee. Very affordable pricing I did some research before hand.

My Daughter just turned 21 and had never been behind the wheel. So for her birthday I bought a 4 lesson package from A1. I bought the 4 lesson which includes 4 two hour behind the wheel lessons or 3 two hour behind the wheel and 1 use of their car with DMV driving test. While researching driving companies (there really is a lot out there) I had to take in to account my Daughter fears first about driving and her anxieties about her skills.

The first lesson she was apprehensive but did very well and came home feeling very confident. By the third lesson she was feeling very brave and had a new found self esteem about her driving skills. Well she passed her test and got her license. This place really is amazing! The employees have a lot of compassion, patience and are truly helpful. You will not be wasting your time or money with this company.

I've been looking for a driving school that taught adults, as I am on my own and my parents are in another state. Before trying this driving school, I took one lesson at Referral Driving School. It was "meh" and more geared toward teens than adults, even though they said they teach adults too. However, their instructor didn't take me driving in the street just basically going in circles around a residential area.

I don't know if she was scared because I haven't driven in 6 years but I didn't reschedule another appointment. I found A1 Driving School and scheduled 1 lesson, Pavel was my instructor. I told him I haven't driven since 2006 and of course I only had one driving lesson with the other school. He made sure I knew where the controls were (brakes, gas, signals, etc) before heading off.

He took me driving out onto Greenback and Sunrise near Citrus Heights, we then headed towards Folsom. I wasn't sure if he was crazy to take a new driver out into traffic, but he was very professional, made me feel calm and he would steer the wheel if I was having trouble staying in lane or if another driver got too close to me. He made me feel safe at all times.

After the first lesson, I bought their gold package $930 with Pavel being my instructor every time. On the 4th or 5th lesson we went driving on the freeway. Again, made me feel safe. Today was my DMV test in Carmichael and I passed, only missed 3 points. Pavel was my instructor from beginning to end, I had no one to practice with at home. I would highly recommend A1 Driving School to anyone, adults and teens. Their instructors are not afraid to take students out into traffic heavy streets or even on the freeway.
