We are one of the largest privately owned driving schools in Sacramento. We have been providing quality driver's training and education since 2004. Throughout our timeline, we have trained thousands of teenagers, adults and seniors so that each graduating student will be able to face today's complex driving situations safely. We focus on the skills needed to change lanes properly, proceed through intersections, maneuver around heavy traffic, navigate through emergency situations and get you ready for your final test at the DMV.
We are solely responsible for training various clients. We have a caring, responsible, full-time office staff that is knowledgeable in the new state laws and make it easier for you to begin your driving experience.
We are under contract with several area high schools in the greater Sacramento and Elk Grove area. In addition to making students our first priority, we pride ourselves in the education through our recognized defensive driving seminars and our corporate programs. We are one of the largest provider of the 6 hour behind-the-wheel student program.

Our objective at Global Driving School is to teach each student to become a collision free driver. We will train them in a system that will give them this opportunity if used consistently and correctly. The things we can not give our students are enough repetition and experience. The driving school and the parent are a team, both working together for a common objective: To make your student as safe a driver as possible.

I chose Global Driving School because of the reviews right here on Google. There is a reason so many ratings were 5 stars - Leigh. He was my instructor and he's kind of amazing. To start, I'm 37 years old, never had a license before and I had driven maybe 5mi total in my lifetime. Do you know how daunting it is to try to teach an almost middle age person something new like driving?
I think it's probably like learning a second language as an adult compared to as a child: so much easier to learn the younger you are. At this point, I was already stuck in my ways and I thought I knew how to drive just from being in cars my whole life. As soon as I was behind the wheel, however, this intense feeling of responsibility sank in and I was keenly aware of the fact that one small error could end in tragedy.
Nervous drivers are dangerous drivers and I think Leigh picked up on my anxiety because that's when he started asking me questions about my job, my life, told me a little about growing up in Sacramento and it completely alleviated my anxiety. He refocused my thoughts! Instead of sitting there white-knuckling it, I was too busy trying to drive and enjoying the conversation.
He has a curious, inquisitive personality type. Not the pointless small talk we're all accustomed to - he's genuinely interested in who you are but not in an intrusive way at all. He's very laid back, relaxed and flexible. I had been concerned that he might try and tell me I needed more lessons than I did for the extra money but nope! After the 2nd two hour lesson, he told me I was ready!
On the 2nd lesson, he even let me get on the freeway! And I did a good job! I was confident, not very nervous and it was so exciting! I had never driven myself on the freeway before. Considering how well the 2nd lesson went, he gave me my choice of 1 or 2 hours to practice on the day of the test. That was an opportunity to get more money out of me but he didn't try to.
May not sound like a big deal but he could have taken advantage and told me that I needed a dozen lessons before he'd let me use his car for the test or something equally douchey but he's not a douche! He's honest, he's professional and he actually cares about his students. The morning of my test, I was freaking out. I was so nervous, I had put so much pressure on myself and exactly everyone I know was aware of the test that day so if I failed, I would have failed with everyone watching.
It took a good hour before I was able to calm down. Leigh was so patient with me! We had to wait maybe 30-40 minutes for my examiner to get to me so we got out of the beastly hot car and stood on the grass in the shade. We talked about buying used cars, my job, even my boss's birthday party that was happening the following day. The non-DMV related conversation did wonders for calming my nerves because I PASSED THE TEST!
I GOT MY LICENSE! From nearly zero experience, to my license in 3 lessons is pretty fantastic and that's all because he's a great teacher. He has a way of teaching you things without feeling like he's teaching you. Leigh was professional without being impersonal and clinical, he made me feel comfortable and by the end of it, when I passed, we were both so stoked!
I know you're not "supposed" to do this these days but I've been vaccinated and I was so happy I passed that when I got out of the car, I snatched Leigh up and squished him in a hug. It was really cool that he was genuinely happy and excited to see me succeed. Really good guy you can feel safe sending your kids to. He's knowledgeable, trustworthy, reliable, punctual and the lessons are thorough.
He had me behind the wheel the moment he picked me up and I stayed behind the wheel for the full 2hrs. Well worth the money! I thank Leigh and so does my boss because now he doesn't have to worry about how or when I get to the places he sends me for work. Highly recommend!

Let's start off by saying that Leigh is funny and very respectful! He's amaze balls! I went from not driving and not knowing anything about the road, despite my almost accidents I've almost gotten into but he has turned me into the best driver now. To the families & individuals I would recommend him to the fullest. He deserves every recognition. Go Leigh!
